Equicare Training emphasises the practical side and the monitoring that takes place between placements. The students are trained every day on a selection of horses from each discipline.
Practical monitoring is mandatory.
This covers a variety of subjects such as behaviouralism, farriery and diet in order for its future therapists to understand the horse as a whole.
A module on fitness training is included on each course in order to understand horse physiology, an important factor in the rehabilitation of a sport horse.
Equicare Training offers 2 courses, one in animal osteopathy and physiotherapy, the other in animal physiotherapy.
They are 2- or 3-year courses.
Subjects taught include: osteopathy, physiotherapy, shiatsu and fitness training.
They are practically focused. Regular monitoring of theory and practice takes place between placements. Clinical placements at Equicare centres and partner stables are part of the course and take places regularly throughout the studies.
